12-07-2012 Jetty Park

Winter in Florida means the beach is less crowded with people and full of Gulls and other birds early and late in the day.  This evening I took the opportunity to walk the beach at Jetty Park.  Nice and cool, but still warm enough for shorts and great Golden Hour light.  On the west coast of FL, Ft Desoto has a famous resident Reddish Egret - Big Red.  I felt it was time to give them a little competition and shoot the Reddish Egret that hunts the surf at Jetty Park on the east coast.

Living this close to the ocean, you sometimes take it for granted and forget to take the time to walk the beach and enjoy it.  Tonight I reminded myself why I live here.

They only have Big Red, while we have many many Reddish Egrets to include Big White.
